Preparing Medical Interpreters for the Hospital Setting
Designed by healthcare professionals, the Culture Advantage Medical Interpreter Training Program is a clinically focused, performance-based online learning experience in both languages.
Our 60-hour program is designed with clinically realistic learning activities and assessments, preparing professional interpreters who are job-ready upon graduation for interpreting in acute care (hospitals and medical centers), and medical specialties, in addition to primary care, outpatient, and community health.
With a focus on patient safety and high degree of clinical accuracy in BOTH languages, students practice verbalizing real-life patient information and instructions for complex medical conditions and procedures while receiving coaching and feedback from physicians and nurses. Students not only learn medical concepts, but also gain valuable understanding of the disease process and the intricacies of the medical encounter from the medical provider’s perspective.
